It’s no secret that our team at The Good Party loves colour, crafting, and just about anything that you would call “fun”. And we love it when couples trust us enough to let us run wild with our imaginations. Emma and Alex, who got married July 2019, trusted lead planner Camille, and the result was a Mexican inspired fiesta complete with over 600 hand made pompoms!
Check out the rest of the fun below. All the beautiful photos were captured by our talented friend, Kyle Joinson!
Emma and Alex started their days off getting ready with their bridal parties and as you can see, the day was already filled with fun! With mimosas, a trampoline, and an amazing first look the day was going to be good.
This bridal party was SO fun, we could feel their excitement throughout the day. Their love for Emma + Alex was obvious.
Emma and Alex originally had a different vision for their wedding day at Fort Common, but after a trip to Sayulita, Mexico they were instantly inspired. All over Sayulita were hand-made colourful pom-poms. Knowing Camille’s love of bright colours and crafting, Emma shared photos of the pom-poms and it was a confetti moment for Camille. She instantly knew that the colourful hand made pom-poms would make the perfect statement in the all white and brick venue.
The pom-poms were hung, the guests arrived and it was time to get married! Everyone was in awe of the colourful addition that hung above their heads (and of course, how stunning Emma looked!!!)
With a tropical floral installation from Two Little Birds Flower Farm transported guests to a sunny getaway. It was the perfect ceremony backdrop and really popped against the beloved white wall.
Delicate and colourful bud vases popped with colour on the long tables, alongside pink goblets for that extra added elegance.
The food was Mexican, of course. La Taquisa supplied all of the amazing food made for a Mexican fiesta.
Twist of Fate kept the margaritas flowing, and of course the colourful pom-poms we attached to their bar swayed in the breeze.
There was cake, donuts, and even some late night pizza from Standard Pizza. Everyone was full and happy!
All day long Emma and Alex couldn’t stop smiling and laughing. Their love for each other and their happiness was contagious.
Soon enough the music was turned up and it time to party all night long!
Emma, Alex, and all their guests were so fun to be around and we felt so lucky to be a part of their day! We felt so honoured that they trusted us enough to run with their design vision and to make it totally impactful, yet simple and unique!
Camille won the award Best Decorated Wedding for under $5000 at the Vancouver Island Wedding Industry Awards. She carefully crafted over 600 pom-poms for Emma and Alex! Congrats Camille (and Emma + Alex)!
