Some people possess amazing artistic skills and can make art out of anything and Melanie Gordon, the owner and artist behind Decor by Nature, is one of those people.
Mel came into our lives before The Good Party was even a thing, actually even before Emma McCormick CREATIVE was even really a thing! Mel and Emma first met in the fall of 2015 when they both participated in a website workshop/bootcamp for small business owners (thank you, Brand Brilliant, we love you ladies!). Mel was a regular at some of the island’s most popular craft fair markets with her gorgeous accent decor pieces. As the years have gone on, Mel and Emma have supported each other’s businesses and our team works with Mel regularly on customized decor pieces for our clients – creating everything from gorgeous directional signage to helping us craft the tiniest details like place cards and favour tags! Mel recently teamed up with us on our 2019 Crafternoons in the Square with the City of Victoria and it was so fun to work alongside her at the free community workshops!
Wedding guests sometimes need a little help when it comes to what to expect on your big day and Melanie can create beautiful custom pieces to suit your needs. We’ve even seen her create a beautiful sign to point out where the bathrooms are! Whether it’s a seating chart, a welcome sign, or name cards, Mel is your girl.
You can choose from a tried and true design through her rental program or she can do a custom order. We’ve seen her write on leather pieces, sea glass, and even Arbutus bark. She can do anything!

Signage and stationery are a great way to elevate the guest experience and really set the tone for the day. Oftentimes stationery is the first impression of your wedding that your guests will have. Whether they open an invitation in the mail, or are greeted by a Welcome sign at the wedding, the stationery sets the tone for the day.

Melanie can create so many beautiful pieces that will suit your vision. She is amazingly talented and so sweet to work with, accommodating some of our team’s biggest and most unusual projects and requests, even with the tightest deadlines.

Stationery and signage are one of the few things from your wedding day that can last forever; these beautiful pieces are something that your guests can take home with them and something that you can display for years to come. Melanie’s artwork is made to last a lifetime!
