Kelley and Eryn: A Brunch Wedding

By Sarah Gray

This colorful farmhouse wedding was a perfectly personalized, cozy and cute, family affair! Gathering their loved ones together at Keating Farm in Duncan BC, Kelley and Eryn curated all the best things for their special day. Kelley and Eryn knew what they wanted their wedding to look like and our team happily helped make it happen!

Bonding over cats and their common love for all things brunch – Lead Planner Dakota loved working with this amazing couple ahead of their fall Keating Farm wedding.

Farmhouse Heaven…

Keating Farm is a venue we love to plan at since they have so many options on site! There is truly something for everyone. You can host your ceremony in the farmhouse hall (like Kelley and Eryn did), in the orchard, on the steps of the farmhouse, or in the hay field beyond the garden.

The barn can be left as is or dressed up to match your vision and is the perfect combination of rustic and cozy. Our team always loves working in this space! Kelley and Eryn opted to add twinkle lights to the reception space and we think this simple addition was the perfect glow up!

Let’s talk about brunch!

Kelley and Eryn love an early night in. So, when it came to planning their perfect day, that meant incorporating two important things: brunch as the main meal and wrapping up before 5pm. As a generalization, Vancouver Island residents love brunch and The Good Party team is no different! For Lead Planner Dakota this was really a dream wedding theme since brunch is her favorite meal!

Guests enjoyed a main course of eggs benedict, fresh garden salads, and all the trimmings catered by Mensch Kitchen and Catering. Mimosas and shaft cocktails were served by Twist of Fate Cocktail Co. to accompany the delicious meal.

It (somehow) gets better! Following brunch guests mingled in the courtyard (in front of the barn) where Albi and his Gondola Gelato truck was parked serving up delicious artisanal gelato for all to enjoy.

We love a personal touch, or three!

The gown that Kelley wore holds a lot of significance for the family. Three generations worth to be exact! Not only did Kelley’s grandmother wear this same gown on her wedding day, Kelley’s mother did as well. With only a few alterations (made by Kelley herself) our bride wore this special wedding dress and we may have shed a tear or two watching as she walked down the aisle.

The bridesmaids carried hexagon floral frames which were a super cute and fun alternative to a traditional bouquet. We always love to see a unique way to display or carry flowers!

Kelley and Eryn personalized bamboo cutlery kits for each of their guests. This functional cutlery set doubled as place cards (the carrying case had each guests’ name engraved on it) and as a guest gift!

All in all Kelley and Eryn’s farmhouse brunch wedding was a sweet success! Our team loved being part of this fun and love filled event at one of our favorite mid island venues. When clients opt to change up the traditional timeline and add in personal touches we are always on board. Even better when they opt for brunch instead of dinner, you don’t have to ask us twice – we will be there!
