The Love BASH – Valentine’s Day Pop Up Wedding Chapels: FAQs

Things are getting pretty exciting around here, and, with only three weeks to go until Valentine’s Day, love is definitely in the air! ❤️ Our team is currently working on two February weddings while also gearing up for the first ever Love Bash, taking place on Friday, February 14th 2020 at the Victoria Public Market.

We’ve had a ton of interest in the event and have some super rad couples signed up already to tie the knot! We’ve had lots of great questions, so we’ve put together a Frequently Asked Questions post to share some more details with you all!

So whether you are thinking of tying the knot, renewing your vows, thinking of a commitment ceremony, or simply looking for a fun night out, read on to get all the details on The Love BASH 2020!

 

General details

 

What is The Love Bash?

The Love Bash is a celebration of love where couples can get married, renew their vows, or participate in a commitment ceremony!

When and where is this happening?

The Victoria Public Market is one of The Love Bash’s main sponsors and has very generously donated their beautiful industrial venue for this event.

The four chapels will be spread out throughout and the dance party will be happening in the middle. The Love Bash is happening on February 14 th , 2020 (Valentines Day!). The ceremonies will be happening between 7-10pm and then we party from 10-12am!

Okay awesome! That’s definitely sounds like something we’d be into, so what’s included in the Happy Couple ticket?

– An awesome venue and wicked décor styled in the theme of your chapel of choice

What does the Guest Ticket include?

Guest tickets include a cocktail on arrival, complementary glass of champagne, food from all of the amazing vendors, and dance party access!

How much does this cost?

The Happy Couple Ticket: $295 (per couple)
**a $1200 value**

Guest Tickets: $30 (per person)

Is this for charity?

Yes!!

All proceeds from this event will be going to the Help Fill a Dream Foundation, an amazing local not-for-profit organizations that supports families when a child has been diagnosed with a medical condition or severe health challenges. They support these families financially and emotionally doing such things as supplying them with medical equipment, or providing the child with a tutor so they don’t fall behind in school. They are an incredible organization and we are so happy we are able to support them through this amazing event!

We are planning that about $250 from each Happy Couple ticket will go directly to their organization! This is entirely due to all of the incredible vendors who have donated their services for this event. 

 

Questions About Bringing Guests!

 

I see this says 19+, can children come?

For chapels where children are coming as guests, we will schedule these earlier in the evening. Guests under the age of 19 are not able to attend the after party from 10pm-12am.

Can we have a bridal party?

Absolutely! Just don’t forget they will need to purchase guest tickets as well. For some chapels, they won’t be able to stand at the front so we are planning that they’ll sit in the chairs along with any other guests you may have!

Can my pet come?

The Love Bash is not a pet friendly event. Please leave your furry friend at home this time!

 

Tell Me More!

 

How are so many people getting married in one day? Is this like a communal wedding… ???

Hopefully lots! The ceremonies will run for about fifteen minutes each between 7pm-10pm. There are four chapels, each with a different theme and eye catching décor. Couples will be given time-slots after they sign-up. The chapels are semi-private and spread out throughout the market. In each chapel, you will be the only couple getting married or renewing vows during your time-slot.

Are strangers watching me get married?

No. The Victoria Public Market will be closed to the public. The chapels are all semi-private meaning that they will either having draping around them or be in a separate room. Only you and your guests will be in attendance for your ceremony, unless you want to invite some new friends!

How many people can you bring?

This is the best part! We want you to bring your loved ones to witness your ceremony! You can bring up to ten guests (just make sure they buy guest tickets). Some couples are choosing to bring a few more than ten guests, so feel free to reach out if you are hoping for a slightly larger group and we’ll let you know if we can accommodate your request.

 

The Official Stuff

 

What do I need to bring?

  1. If you are getting married, you need to bring a marriage license (No need for this if you are doing a vow renewal)
  2. If you are doing a vow renewal,  just bring yourselves!
  3. Your vows if you have something special to say to each other
  4. The special people in your life you want present (Don’t forget to make sure they have guest tickets!)
  5. Your dancing shoes: we’ve got a cash bar, dance floor, and photo booth for the post nuptials bash!

I’ve never needed to get a marriage license before. How do I go about this?

You can obtain a marriage license from an issuer (find the closest one to you here!
Only one member of the couple is required to be present for this and needs to bring a valid piece of government ID.

IMPORTANT: Please do not fill it out. We will do that for you and your celebrant will ensure it makes it’s way to Vital Statistics BC who will make it all official. You will receive your marriage certificate in the mail about 4-6 weeks after your wedding day!

 

Music Lovers

 

Will there be music?

Yes. We are so lucky to have Hey! Mr.DJ playing music all night for our after party!

Can I have a first dance?

While we won’t be doing formal first dances, our incredible DJ is happy to take requests should there be a specific song you would like to hear.

 

There are no random questions around here!

 

Will Elvis be marring us in the Vegas themed chapel?

Elvis will not be in attendance, but we can’t wait to introduce you to James Latour, who will be the celebrant in the Vegas-inspired Chapel!

Tracy Julie Ann is another amazing celebrant that will be joining us and will be performing all of the ceremonies in the West Coast x Bohemian Chapel.

Linda Nelson will also be working her magic and performing the ceremonies in the Traditional, yet Elegant, Black + White inspired Chapel.

This all sounds so great, but wow, how am I going to get a dress on time?

What you wear is completely up to you! You could wear white or colour! Long or short! If you would like to wear a traditional wedding dress we would recommend buying one off the rack and then getting alterations done due to timing.

Is it too late at this point to book hair and makeup?

No, not at all! Just make sure you give yourself plenty of time that day to have your hair and makeup done!

We are happy to make recommendations and can connect you with the stylists and artists who have let us know they are available.

How will I receive my photos from the ceremony?

A private link will be emailed to you that you will be able to click on to view and download your photos.
