Vendor Love: Trend Decor

By Marley Poniedzielnik

There are those people who are right there beside you offering help before you can even ask, elevating your ideas to make them truly magical, and filling even the most stressful situations with laughter. Danielle and and her team at Trend Decor Even Design are like that. They know what it takes to make a vision happen and they can take simple ideas and execute them into the most elegant and personalized way.

Trend Decor is an event decor and styling company. They offer an extensive rental inventory as well as full service design packages. All of Trend Decor’s weddings look completely unique, as Danielle likes to challenge herself to create something new with every event.

We have been collaborating with Danielle for a number of years now (basically since day one) and have created some pretty show-stopping events together. Danielle was one of the first people Emma met when she started out in the wedding industry here in Victoria and their friendship and support of each other’s businesses has only grown over the years.

Some of The Good Party’s most incredible weddings have been when our team has taken the lead on the full planning of our couple’s big day and then we’ve brought Danielle and the Trend Decor team on board for a full design package. The Trend Decor team usually works on about 8-10 weddings like this a year so we feel very lucky when the stars align and we have the opportunity to team up on these beautiful days! When we aren’t working with Danielle on full wedding design packages, we see her just as much because the Trend Decor inventory is one of the most extensive collections on Vancouver Island and we are regularly renting linens, goblets, votives, lanterns, chairs, and lounge pieces from them for our clients.

To celebrate our love of Danielle and her team, we’ve put together a few highlights from our weddings together for you to check out! Enjoy!

To get things started, we are throwing it back to Ashley & James’ incredibly elegant wedding at their home in Cordova Bay. This wedding was one of our first big full planning tenting projects together and it was Danielle who suggested to our lovely couple that we should assist with the planning process. Since this wedding, we’ve teamed up on many tented build-outs together and they’ll always be the most challenging but most rewarding. Danielle transformed the bare bones tent into the most beautiful elegant garden wedding which was perfect for our clients who wanted something beautiful, but effortless and relaxed, for their big day!

Ashlyn + Darren got married at Hatley Castle. For their ceremony they wanted a traditional Indian Mandap – so Danielle got to work designing a traditional Mandap with a contemporary, west coast look. The reception was filled with colour, with an elegant bohemian feel.

Kimberley + Shane were married at Villa Eyrie, which hosts breathtaking views of the Finlayson Arm below. Danielle played into the natural beauty of the venue with bohemian decor featuring lots of natural colours and features like wood and rocks.

Xinchu + Qi wanted true elegance and romance. Hatley Castle was the perfect fit for them. Soft blush pinks and creams, greenery and candles. It was a rainy day in May, so Danielle and her team worked quickly to move the ceremony indoors and it was more beautiful than we could have imagined.

Dana + Dillon were hosted by Sea Cider for their wedding day and their decor was playful, elegant, and romantic. Inspired by “The Princess Bride”, they even had a custom hand painted backdrop with a quote from the movie.

Abby + Aitan had a beautiful outdoor ceremony and reception at The View, overlooking the Malahat. They had a unique, circular set up for the ceremony and then West Coast inspired reception decor in a clear top tent that really complemented the blue summer sky and ocean below.

Kaela and Jeppe were married in June of 2018 at Bodega Resort on Galiano Island. Their tented wedding was a true showstopper and we loved the west coast meets Scandinavian that Danielle customized for these two. This was hands down one of our favourite projects to collaborate on ever! Plus we loved getting to spend the weekend with Danielle and Bree on the island.

Danielle’s inventory is constantly changing and she is always updating her staple pieces, so there is always something new to offer each couple. Plus she’s never afraid to get the spray paint can out to customize a sign frame or two! Whether it’s tying chair cushions, or placing the perfect candle votive just so, Danielle’s attention to detail is incredible. We love sharing a studio space with Danielle and her team, plus getting a sneak peek at all her new inventory isn’t so bad either! We can’t wait for you to see what we are working on together right now!!
