The Inn at Laurel Point is one of Victoria’s top wedding venues. The stunning ocean and harbour views, greenhouse style Terrace Ballroom, and gorgeous guest rooms are just a few reasons why we love working at the Laurel Point. This beautiful space is perfect for your wedding (any season of the year!). Fun fact! The Laurel Point was the very first venue The Good Party (previously Emma McCormick Creative) ever worked at, so it truly holds a special place in our hearts.

Location, location location.

When working with new clients they always want to know what their options are for waterfront spaces in Victoria. The reality is that there are very few options on the island that can accomodate medium to large guest lists. Thankfully, we have the Inn at Laurel Point! Overlooking Victoria’s iconic inner harbour you can have oceanfront views and a central location all in one venue.

The Inn at Laurel Point has great accessibility for all of your guests coming from out of town! A few examples:

  • 40 minute drive from the BC ferries terminal
  • 5 minute drive from the Harbour Air seaplane terminal
  • 2 minutes from the Blackball ferry terminal (transits back and forth between Victoria and Port Angeles USA)

An A+ Team!

Friendors (wedding vendors who are our friends) are very important to us. The event team at Laurel Point is a great example of who we love to work with. Their team is always super friendly, so professional, and lots of fun leading up to the event date and on the wedding day itself.

We also have to give a special shoutout to their Kitchen and Pastry department. The Chefs are truly world class and their creations, especially Pastry Chef Kim’s cakes and desserts hold a special place in our hearts and stomachs <3

An Iconic Oceanfront Ceremony…

From the Terrace Patio guests have a great view of the Inner Harbour and the Songhees Walkway across the water. As well, the popular Fisherman’s Wharf is on the same side of the harbour (as the hotel) and is a fantastic spot for a wedding weekend adventure!

The Terrace Patio is the best spot for your ceremony. Whether you choose to stand on the smaller floating patio or infront of the infinity pond you really can’t go wrong! In addition to hosting your ceremony on the Terrace Patio, many of our couples also choose to do their first look here as well.

The upper and lower Terrace patio space provide lots of room for guest seating during your ceremony as well as a great area for cocktail hour in the shade. The newly renovated garden also lends itself perfectly for cocktail hour – is there anything better than sipping a cocktail in a beautiful lounge surrounded by the beautiful smells of Chef’s prized herb garden?

The tented space (on the upper patio) is the ideal spot for your first dance. Just add lights and a band!

The Reception of Your Dreams!

The Terrace Ballroom is truly one of Victoria’s most stunning reception spaces. This airy, natural lit reception space is perfect for so many different styles and designs. We love that you can elevate the space simply by adding florals, table decor, and signage. Alternatively, you can utilize the exposed beams and add ceiling decor! A few ideas: fabric, lanterns, greenery and disco balls, or balloons. The white sail cloth you can see in a few of the images below actually belong to the hotel and can be left up or removed.

PRO TIP: It’s always best to plan for the worst, and in Victoria (even in the summer months) that means rain. Luckily, the Terrace Ballroom is the ideal spot for a ceremony, no matter the time of year, because of the epic views, greenhouse style ceiling, and natural light! One of our favourite Laurel Point weddings ever was actually a Christmas Eve ceremony that took place at sunset in the Terrace Ballroom.

We love when clients come to us with a clear design vision. We also love when they ask us to take care of creating a vision for them – from start to finish! For the Inn at Laurel Point you really can go in any direction for colour, theme, and design. These organic, natural and bright designs that you can see below fit perfectly in the space. That said, we also know that darker, moodier and vibrant colours would look great too.

Dance Party Time!

Is having an epic late night dance party on your wedding vision board? Look no further! The Spirit Room (located just off the Terrace Ballroom) is the answer! We love a late night dance your heart out kinda party and the team at Laurel Point has this space designated for just this occasion.

Do we love to spice up the decorations for the late night party? Of course we do. Add more tinsel always!
