Winter Wonderland Wedding Weekend

By Marley Poniedzielnik

As the days get a little colder (or wetter!), and we head into winter, we can’t help but reminisce about one of our favourite winter weddings ever! This intimate wedding was one for the books – who knew we’d be ahead of the curve when it came to celebrating big love on a smaller, more intimate scale!

This elegant, intimate weekend full of events that allowed lots of time for our couple and their guests to celebrate together and got to know each other better. They fell in love with Victoria and loved how special Victoria is in the winter months. It even snowed on their last day in town! Take a peek below at the winter wonderland we brought indoors, and see for yourself how stunning an intimate wedding can be!

The wonderful thing about The View is that it provides accommodation so wedding couples can surround themselves with their closest friends and family members all weekend long. The wedding guests got to know each other very well, so by the time the wedding on Sunday rolled around, every knew each other very well. With a guest size of 30 people (and one really cute dog!), it was intimate, but the love all the guests had for the couple filled the whole house.

The ladies started their morning off in the master suite, getting ready together. Our bride’s dress was a stunning, vintage inspired gown and she had the perfect winter cover-up to go along with it. The ladies all looked stunning, and when the Father of the Bride walked in and saw his daughter for the first time, the tears all started flowing.

As the bridal party got ready, our vendor team was hard at work. The design was focussed on bringing a winter wonderland to life inside The View. The View is known for, well the stunning view of the West Coast, and we wanted to embrace that. We brought large, white, light up trees inside for an enchanted forest feel. Lots of romantic winter tones like burgundy, blush, silver and whites.

Tina from Platinum Floral Designs worked her floral magic and designed a large floral arch that was the perfect backdrop for the day. It was definitely one of the most stunning arches we’ve ever seen!

The candles were lit, and as guests arrived, they were greeted by our team – hi, Kara! Everyone was blown away by the transformation of the space. They had all been there the previous day for the rehearsal dinner, but now it had a completely different feeling. Guests settled in, and the ceremony began!

Quick flip time! Since the long table dinner reception was going to be taking place in the same space as the ceremony, our team got to work quick! We set the long table dinner in record time, and made sure everything was perfectly in place before guests came back in for dinner.

The dinner was filled with beautiful speeches from our couples and their loved ones. There was incredible, west coast Mexican fusion food from the amazing Toque Catering team, great wine, and amazing memories. The sun went down and the fairy lights came on inside the house making the intimate space feel even more magical.

Following the dinner, there was dessert, dancing, photo booth fun, and even more dancing! Ian from Beauty and the Beat kept the party going! At the end of the night, guests were reluctant to leave. A few even jumped in the pool and the hot tub!

This winter wedding weekend was filled with so much friendship and love that we felt so lucky to witness it. The wedding was designed to be an enchanting winter wonderland, and our team felt the magic all weekend long.
